Blackchili the best tire compound from ContinentalContinental has developed a mixture of newly discovered synthetic rubber with natural rubber and with a tread with proven wear resistance. To these components in the mixture have been added special nanometric carbon particles, which are optimized in shape and surface properties for the most - good use of the bicycle tire as intended. The tires with the BlackChili compound achieved an unprecedented level of performance. Compared to previous compounds, such as the one with activated silica, BlackChili tires have 26% less rolling resistance, but 30% more grip and increase mileage by 5%. BlackChili technology never stands still, as it is continuously developed in the scientific departments at the Continental plants in Korbach and adapted to the individual applications of the new Continental tires. For our e-bike tire portfolio, we borrow technology from over 100 years of experience in manufacturing and developing our motorcycle tires. All our tires are rated according to the standard index of E25 or E50 respectively 25 / 50 km / h. They have high-quality puncture protection and low rolling resistance.
Trail Casing
Comparable performance to an Enduro trail-ready casing consisting of 60 threads per inch (tpi) wrapped around aramid beads for a complete 2-layer sidewall construction / 120 tpi and 3-layer / 180 tpi tread construction. In addition, the floating cross-woven ProTection (PT) fabric from the board to the shoulder saves weight compared to the two-layer shell construction, but provides much of the same protective qualities in a lighter construction.
