Keep up with new technologies through SKS Germany products
SKS Germany has been among the leaders in the production of bicycle accessories such as pumps, fenders, etc. for decades. However, in the 21st century, consumers also need products that make it easier for them to use smartphones. It is known that these days more and more people use their mobile phones while riding, and for a variety of purposes (depending on the installed applications) - for navigation, to monitor various indicators during training or even as a cycling computer. And while the large touchscreen and the rich functionality of the various software are extremely convenient, the same cannot always be said for mounting the phone to the handlebars, and the battery usually does not like navigation applications and runs out quite quickly. SKS know this and tried to meet these needs of modern cyclists in the best possible way - through the accessories from the COMPIT series. Compit phone stands and Compit/E (for e-bikes) mount to the handlebars (compatible with 22.2, 25.4 and 31.8mm diameters) and even include a headlight attachment that is added to the front. Likewise, you can also mount an action camera attachment, which is purchased separately. The phone is attached to the stand by a special bayonet. For this you need to buy a hard case from SKS (are available for some of the most popular brands and models of smartphones), whose back is equipped with the bayonet in question. And what to do if your phone is not among the "chosen ones"? First, buy him a suitable hard case (not silicone or multi-piece!) from any such accessories store, then get a SKS's universal adapter, which is firmly attached to the back of the case using 3M adhesive. In this way, any smartphone becomes compatible with the Compit system and can be firmly attached to the handlebar post - horizontally or vertically, and also with a variable angle, so that you can see the screen as well as possible. If you want to use your phone for navigation on longer rides as well, then it's best to think straight about Compit+ kit or Compit/E+. They also include the special +COM/UNIT external battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh, which can provide up to 10 hours of operation for your smartphone, even in navigation mode. The battery is waterproof and equipped with an NFC chip that allows data exchange with suitable phones. The +COM/UNIT module is Qi-certified, i.e. can wirelessly charge smartphones that support this standard. For all others, a USB output port and three different connection cables are provided. See a brief presentation of Compit accessories in this video as well: What is specific about the Compit/E and Compit/E+ e-bike variants is that they can be fully integrated with Bosch Intuvia and Nyon displays, and also allow the phone and/ or the external battery to be charged by the large battery of the e-bike. Along with this whole system, a free SKS MY BIKE mobile phone application has been developed, which automatically turns on (via the signal from the NFC chip) when the phone is attached to the external battery, and provides the user several important functions: navigation, digital bell, speedometer and bicycle passport. The latter means that you enter important data about the bike and the owner into your phone, which in case of theft or accident can be quickly sent to the police or shared over the Internet. In case of a flat tire, you can use the app to see where there is an opportunity to pump it up or a machine to buy spare tires nearby. In this connection, new products will appear, which will enrich the possibilities of the MY BIKE application. For example, AirSpy SV tire pressure monitoring sensors are expected in Spring 2020, and will send information directly to your phone (or a suitable bike computer) via ANT+ wireless or Bluetooth. https://velosiped.bg/ |
